Good-Bye Tennessee...Hello Georgia!

Nope. We're not moving.
We're going on vacation, to the beach!
I went to the beach when i was 3 or 4, but I don't remember anything. Momma told me that my cousin and I got food poisoning when we went. :) But none of my little sisters have ever been, and I don't remember, sooo...this will be fun! We also invited our Grandmother, 'Nina', to come with us. I'm planning on taking a LOT of pictures, so I can post them. We leave this weekend, and will be gone for a week.
Before we had planned this trip, we had planned to go to LBL for a pickin' party they have every year. (For those of you who don't live around here and know what LBL stands for, it's
Land Between the Lakes) :) We're going to meet some friends that we met there last year, and jam a little. Then we're leaving straight from there to GEORGIA! I probably won't post anymore until we get back, although, the house we're staying in has Internet... who knows!!
Oh, and if you would, remember my sisters Grace. Her pet rabbit died yesterday from heat stroke. This happened to her other two rabbits 4 years ago. Now, to understand, you would have to know Grace. She LOVES animals, and animals LOVE her. Richard, her bunny, was her sweetheart. She got him when she was 7 years old. (She's now 12). When her first bunny died, Benny, she got Richard, a Lionhead rabbit. Hence the name, Richard the Lionhead. (Richard the Lionheart?) :) Digging a grave for your sister's pet bunny was almost the saddest thing I've had to do... She's been really heart-broken.

The Great Chicken Coop Massacre...

...of 2010.

I woke up Friday morning and looked out the kitchen window, I noticed our beautiful, sweet tempered black hen, Pet, was lying on the ground 'resting', or so I thought, later, Grace come running in and says, "Clooney(our Leghorn rooster), and Pet are dead and we lost a guinea!" I ran out there and sure enough, they where...well,...mangled. I'll spare you the details. So I put on the rubber gloves, got a shovel, and headed out there to 'dispose' of the temporarily. Daddy came home and said it was a weasel. He put gravel and more chicken wire in some places that where big enough for a weasel to get through. Earlier last year, a coy dog got 2 of our guineas, and 2 chickens, and the morning after that accident, Margaret had died of shock. (Seriously she did). So our poultry count was 1 rooster, 4 hens, and 5 guineas...until this 2 day massacre. This morning, we heard all this racket coming from the coop, so we went out side and 2 out our 3 hens that were left from yesterday's killing, where dead also! So know, because of a weasel, we're left with one, white leghorn layer. So goes the story of farm life...

On a lighter note, We're coming really close to house-breaking Ellie Evangeline. (Yes, we decided to give her a shorter name:)) She's doing wonderful.

Look What Was Waiting For Me Last Night...

Momma called me down from my sisters room where we were practicing a song, she said, "I need you to come fix the drinks for supper!" This is normally my job at night, so I ran down stairs, Daddy was home, so I greeted Him, then started fixing drinks. I noticed that everyone was in the front part of the house, near the Piano Room, I turned the corner, and...

There she was! My very own Border Collie pup, she's my early 16th birthday present. Her name is: Lily Evangeline Beccan. I call here Eline for short. The Lily part is her mother's name, and the Beccan part is the Irish form of Rebecca, the sweet lady who bred her and let us get her. Evangeline means, bearer of good news, and Eline means beautiful. Thanks Daddy and Momma!
