A Little Bit of Sweetness....

Aren't they tiny?
The proud Mama and her babies

Some of the new ones

Clooney, our rooster

Dewblyn the 'Big' brother
Sunday before last we got home from church and found these eight little balls of fuzz protesting loudly under our porch. The proud Mama had given us a litter of four last march. When we finally found homes for two of them, the other two ran off. We found one of them down the road at a neighbor's house and we told them they could keep her. So, we were down to one Mama cat. (just how my parents wanted it) Then, the following Sunday, (Father's Day), a little kitten was found on our porch by my little sister. She has nursed it, fed it, and taken care of it since it was about 6 weeks old, (we think). It thinks my sister is it's Mama. So, we had a Mama and a little male kitten(he was dubed Dewblyn). Now, we have a happy litter of five. Ohhhh, the joys of a little farm. [smile] I LOVE it. Here are some pictures of our chickens, cats and guineas!!!!

:UPDATE: Praise the Lord!

Gracie had her surgery this morning and came through it just fine! Her parents and siblings are waiting for her to wake up. They had to remove part of her spine at the top and replace it with more bone. Please continue to pray for a quick recovery and minimal pain.
We're having beautiful weather here in the south. It's only been about 77 degrees with a cool breeze blowing and blue skies. Every now and then a shadow will make my room (where I'm working) go dark, then I know a cloud just passed over. The Lord can make such glorious things. If this is a fallen world and God blesses us with such beautiful things in our eyes, imagine what Heaven will be like!
" The Heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky proclaims the work of his hands."
Psalm 19:1

" Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
There's just something about that name,
Master, Savior, Jesus,
Like the fragrance after the rain,
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
Let all Heaven and earth proclaim;
Kings and kingdoms will all pass away,
But there's something about that name!"

BBQ Doughnuts?!!?

We were driving back from a restaurant after church, when I noticed that our town's doughnut shop was closed and a sign that said " T.J.'s BBQ coming soon" was posted. Now, for this to have any meaning to you, you must know that last winter, my Grandpa (who plays the banjo) took me and my sister (who plays the mandolin) up there to jam with some retired elderly folks who play bluegrass. We would go almost every Friday morning to play and learn about music, songs, and such. Well, my town is small. The highest place in my town is the top of the Methodist Church steeple. There's a dike around the town that keeps it from flooding (before the dike, it flooded really bad most of the spring and summer) It has a small library and about three greasy spoon restaurants. Those restaurants are FULL every Sunday afternoon. We decided to go thirty minutes away to a bigger town and eat this Sunday. ( We usually eat at home, but today was an exception.) I told you all this so you would understand that our town has NEVER been able to hold an ice cream, doughnut, or treat place for more than six months without closing because they didn't get enough money. I saw that sign and told Daddy and Mama, " Oh! The doughnut shop is closed and it's a BBQ place! Now we can't jam there this Winter!" (by the way, they had GREAT doughnuts!) Daddy said, " Well, you could hang out and jam at the BBQ place." " Who would want to hang out at a BBQ place? That's NOT appetizing." I said. Daddy laughed and said, " Well, they could have kept it a doughnut place for the Winter(that's when they got a lot of business) and then made the BBQ place for the summer. You could have BBQ doughnuts!" That brought a round of laughter. Oh well, I guess that's how it goes! Me and my sister go to church on Sunday afternoons with Grandpa and Grandma and my great aunt and sing and play songs. I LOVE to go with them. It's something I think a lot of kids miss out on when they think that older people are just a bunch of old fashioned, retired people who like to tell old stories. I love to hear Grandma and Grandpa and my aunt talk about when they where growing up. There are some pretty interesting stories and things you can learn from them! Like Psalm says, " Grey hair is a glorious crown, it is found in the paths of righteousness."
Have a GREAT Sunday!
May God bless!

Late Summer Park Days....

We just got back from our local park where we met some dear friends of ours. These friends also have four little girls ages 6, 8, 10, and 12. We had a HOT but fun time. There's nothing like a park day!
One of the reasons I posted this is to ask if you would pray for one of the little girls, the 8 year old, who's name is Gracie. She is going to have a rare surgery done this Monday to remove a tumor on her spine. Her parents are really concerned and they need the Lord's comfort. I'll try to keep up on what happens Monday and post it.

He Leadeth Me

"He leadeth me! O blessed thought!
O words with heavenly comfort fraught!
Whate're I do, Where'er I be,
still 'tis God's hand that leadeth me.
He Leadeth me, He leadeth me,
by His own hand He leadeth me,
His faithful foll'wer I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me."
This is such a comforting song.

You have redeemed." Exodus 15:13

My First Post! Welcome!

Welcome to He Keeps Me Singing!
He Keeps Me Singing is a blog I'm starting to post scripture, thoughts, pictures, poetry and anything musical! On of my favorite songs is " He Keeps Me Singing". I memorized this song when I was eight years old and have loved to sing and play it ever since. It was written in 1910 by L.B. Bridgers.
I am a born again Christian, waiting to go home. I'm a subject of the King of Kings, and am passing through on my way to his eternal kingdom. I try (and mostly fail) to do all things for my Lord's glory, including my singing. Most songs, lyrics, videos and links on my blog will be gospel. (With the exception of a few 'for fun songs' e.g. "Turkey in the Straw", "Davey,Davey".) My favorite genres of music are, gospel BLUEGRASS!!, Celtic ballads, classical and some folk/americana. I'm the eldest daughter of two WONDERFUL God given parents, and the big sister to three beautiful sisters. I Hope you enjoy your visit and may Christ receive all the glory!
The King Reigns!
" Before God and Christ Jesus, who is going to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing, I solemnly charge you: proclaim the message; persist in it whether convenient or not; rebuke, correct, and encourage with great patience and teaching." 2 Timothy 4:1-2
