A Few Things I'm Thankful for and Why...

I've been blessed with SO MANY things to be thankful for. In fact, there are so many, I'm going to list the top four, then expatiate on the them. Here is my list:

-My King, His Word, and Salvation
- My Family
- My Home
- My Music

I'm thankful for my King, His word, and salvation because it is such a comforting gift, one that keeps on giving through this life. He himself, is our ultimate protector, provider, judge, Father, life-giver, and so much more. How can I help but want to honor, serve, and trust in Him? I'm thankful for His word, which continually supplies me with the glorious expectancy that one day I'll be with Him eternally! His splendid providence and sacrifice of His one son has given me eternal life. Salvation is such a tremendous gift, one that can NEVER be taken away.
I've been magnificently blessed with a godly, caring, loving, witty, dutiful provider, whom I call, my Daddy/ I know that all young girls who have a good, deific relationship with their Fathers' are prejudice, in the fact that their Daddies' "are the best in whole, wide world!" He has been such a strong and endearing person in my life, and has taught me many things that I think I would have overlooked, had he not taken the time to show me. May God bless him!
As a young daughter, who has been raised under her Mother's tutelage since a little girl, I know that there is NO other place in the world I' rather spend my single years, than right beside Momma. She is such a beautiful example of Proverbs 31 woman, that, I sometimes wonder if I shall ever be as good a wife, mother, mentor, teacher, friend, sister, and daughter of Christ as she is. Momma has helped me learn MANY...MANY, things to prepare me to be a good help-meet, and mother one day,...perhaps. No one on earth could ever replace my Momma. (I'm not a bit prejudice {smile})
Little sisters are such a blessing to and older sister. They're always there when you need to work on patience, self-control, love, peace, gentleness... =)
I honestly don't know what I would do without my beautiful bunch of sisters! Being an older sister, I've been able to experience the joy of knowing that, through all the morning sickness, temporary discomforts, and frazzles, a beautiful, sweet, God-given, life was on the way! (3 times to be exact!) Their wittiness, helpfulness, love, and companionship has been, and always will be a heavenly blessing!
I'm SO thankful for such a beautiful house. But more importantly, a beautiful home. The great big field outside the dinning room windows, the woods on all sides of the house to explore, the numerous wig-wams, tepees, attempts at log cabins we've made. Fort Pine, Elmoor, Buttercup hill, the pond, and 'Hubert', will always be a lovely memory of the white house on Point Mason. The freedom we have to roam and run, chase and play is so much fun! Playing cowgirls and indians, knights and ladies, narnia and Scottish heroes, I'll forever remember. God bless our home!
Thanks Daddy and Momma!
Bluegrass music has been one of my biggest interests, (besides horses), since I was about ten or eleven. I love singing and pickin' with my great aunt Mildred, Grandpa, Grandma, and Grace, on Sunday nights. Those old gospel songs, and hymns will forever be in my memory. Going to the dough-nut shop and jammin' with some of the people from around town, pickin' on the guitar on summer afternoons. Frailin' the banjo on my bed when it's cold outside. Yes, even sitting out in the 80-90 degree heat on summer days at a bluegrass festival. These are some of the wonderful things I love about playin' bluegrass. Playing the piano has also been a hobby of mine since Momma taught me when I was seven or eight years old. Playing at church and doing duets with Momma is also something I'm thankful for.
All in all, I've been blessed with wonderful things in my fifteen years, and I praise the Lord for His unending love, for me and my family.

" May God be gracious to us and bless us and make His face shine upon us!."
Psalm 67:1

Turkish Delight!

This is a delicious recipe! But, there's only ONE thing I would do differently, do NOT put the powdered sugar on the bottom of the pan, use cake realease. It makes hard, chalky bals in the bottom of the candy. Other than that, it was really good!

Here's the address to the recipe: www.allrecipes.com/Recipe/Turkish-Delight.aspx

Enjoy,

Thanks Giving Treat...

Turkish Delight!

I know, isn't Turkish Delight supposed to be a Christmas thing?
Nope. I'm making it for Thanksgiving. I found a recipe I believe will be
good, all of them called for rose water but this one. (rose water?)
Anyway, I'll post a picture of mine, and the recipe once I make it tonight!

Maybe we won't get sick eating it like poor ole' Edmund =)

Us 4 Sisters...

I Thought I'd post a picture of me and my three little sisters.
From left to right: Olivia, Me, Grace, and Ava.

Have a great rest of the week!

Toddler Tales...

What has your toddling sibling been doing lately?
Ava(2), has been VERY busy the past two days.

What she did in 2 days:

Ran out to the road. (not that many people drive down our road, but...)

Pulled up our dying Gala apple tree.

Ripped up the boards on our porch ramp.

Tinkled in the grass. (With her clothes ON!)

Threatened to kill the kitten, Lancelot. (She squashed him in the front door. We had to rescue him, he's okay now.)

Got in the car, BY HERSELF, and tried to eat the vitamin C gummies that where in Momma's purse.

Got out the acrylic paints and painted herself, the coffee table, and floor with gold, red, green, silver and white paint.

Then, we gave her some, 'sleepytime tea'. (No, we didn't dope her up. It's herbal.:) )

But, I wouldn't trade her, Olivia, or Grace for anything in the World!
Love Ya'll chillins'!

If you have any "Toddler Tales", please, leave a comment with your story and I'll post it!

Blessings,

The Traits of the Righteous...

" Hallelujah! Happy is the man who fears the Lord, taking great delight in His commandments. His descendants will be powerful in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in his house and his righteousness endures forever. Light shines in the darkness for the upright. He is gracious, compassionate and righteous. Good will come to a man who lends generously and conducts his business fairly. He will never be shaken. The righteous will be remembered forever. He will not fear bad news; his heart is confident, trusting in the Lord. His heart is assured; he will not fear. In the end he will look in triumph on his foes. He distributes freely to the poor; his righteousness endures forever. His horn will be exalted in honor. The wicked man will see it and be angry; he will gnash his teeth in despair. The desire of the wicked will come to nothing." Psalm 112

" Not to us, Lord, not to us...

But to Your name give glory because of Your faithful love,
because of Your truth...He will bless those who fear the Lord-
small and GREAT alike...But we will praise the Lord,
both now and forever. Hallelujah!" (stress added)
Psalm 115:1, 13 & 18

Have a blessed week!

A Fun Tag

I found this on a blog a few days ago, and I thought it looked fun, it'll challenge your thinking a little. I must name twelve characters from either a movie or book, then, answer the questions about them.

1. Eustace Clarence Scrubb
2. Susan Pevensie
3. Rose Campbell
4. Ivanhoe
5. Jack Sparrow
6. Obi won-Kenobi (did I spell that right?)
7. Luke Skywalker
8. Elsie Dinsmore
9. Leinad (Kingdom Series)
10. Aslan
11. Beth March (Little Women)
12. Trumpkin the dwarf

1. Who would make a better college prof. 6 or 11?
Obi won or Beth March! Definitely Obi Won.

2. 12 sends 8 out on a mission. What is it? Does it succeed?
Trumpkin sends Elsie out to retrieve the "help" Caspian blew Susan's horn for. Yes, she succeeds, because Aslan is on their side.

3. What is or would be 9's favorite book?
Exodus in the Bible. Because it's so much like The Code.

4. Would it make more sense for 6 to swear fealty to 2, or the other way around?
6 to 2. Susan is a queen. But, your not supposed to swear allegiance to anyone but Christ.

5. 2, 7, and 12 have dinner together. Where do they go, and what do they discuss?
They go to Luke's Aunt and Uncle's house to eat. They talk about believing unbelievable things.
Trumpkin doesn't believe in Aslan, Susan doesn't really believe that Narnia is real (when she's older.) And Luke doesn't believe that Darth Vadar is his father. Whew!

6. 3 challenges 10 to a duel. What happens?
Rose is scared of lions, so, she wouldn't challenge one. Besides, Aslan wouldn't fight a little girl.

7. If 1 stole 8's most precious possession, how would he/she get it back?
Elsie would lovingly point out that stealing is breaking the eighth commandment, and Eustace would laugh at her. Then, her Papa would find out about it because Elsie would be crying, and make Eustace give Elsie back her Bible.

8. What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted 4 and 1 to work together?
Well, I guess Ivanhoe could help get Eustace back to the British consul.

9. If you could command 3 to perform any one task for you, what would it be?
To introduce me to Phebe.

10. If 2 had to choose sides between 4 and 5, which would it be?
Susan would probably choose Ivanhoe. He's the more sensible one. Besides, Jack is a little weird.

11. What might 10 shout while charging into battle?
RRRRROOOAAAAARRRRRR!!!!!!!

12. If you chose a song to represent 8, which song would you choose?
Sweet Hour of Prayer

13. 1, 6 and 12 are all having dinner at a Chinese restaurant. There's only one scallion pancake left, they all reach for it at the same time, who gets to eat it?
Obi Won- Kenobi. He's got the lightsaber.

14. What would 5 most likely get arrested for?
Just being a pirate! :)

15. If 11 and 9 where racing to a destination, who would get there first?
Leinad for sure, Beth is weak anyway. Though, Leinad may be the gentleman, and let Beth win.

"In Everything...

Present your requests to God." Philippians 4:6

What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry,
Everything to God in prayer!

O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All becasue we do not carry,
Everything to God in prayer!

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Can we find a friend so faithful,
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
We should never be discouraged;
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
In His arms he'll take and shield thee;
Thou wilt find a solace there.

Prayers go up, Blessings come down.

Have a wonderful Sunday!
